This workshop discusses economic empowerment of women in the developing world. Ms. Kargbo shares personal ministry stories from Women of Hope in Sierra Leone. Her premise is that poverty is not defined as a lack of resources, but as a series of broken relationships with self, God, others, and all of creation. It can, therefore, only be remedied by a holistic approach that addresses human dignity and emotional, intellectual, and social components. Key elements of successful economic empowerment are touched upon, including developing models for sustainable income and developing the capacity of individuals.
