Disability and Life Stages

Serving and Serving Alongside Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Joni Eareckson Tada says that disability ministry is not disability ministry until the disabled are serving. How do we not only serve adults with intellectual disabilities, but disciple them to discover their own spiritual gifts and serve in God’s kingdom? What does it mean to share the Gospel with adults with disabilities? How do I know if they understand? We will be joined by keynote speakers and a panel of experts to guide you through these questions and more.

Shepherd’s College Professor and Students

Shepherds College is so much more than a school for students with intellectual disabilities. It’s a fully accredited, post-secondary program designed specifically for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Throughout the three-year program, they help students to reach appropriate independence through the development of vocational, social, and life skills. We believe that everyone was uniquely created by God for a purpose, and that each person in this world deserves a chance to pursue and fulfill their dreams.
